March 24th Ride

Today's temperature was 31 degrees as I headed out to ride today.  Sky was overcast and sprouting random snowflakes which blew around in the wind from the north east.  I thought about taking the fatbike out for a snow ride but needed to get out on the roads; it's time.  The average hi temp. for today is 55F, and the average low is 35F.  We didin't even make the average low for our hi temp today.

I love snow, but crave spring.  I'm feeling like the leaf that Harris found today.

Fort Snelling Turkey Photo

Family and I went to Fort Snelling State Park today for a workshop on tapping maple trees for syrup and for maple sugar.  As we were driving into the park we saw this flock of wild turkeys next to the road.  I pulled out my phone and snapped a few pictures as we drove by.  Ok picture but nothing special.  A few minutes on Google+ photo editing program created much better photo.  I cropped, added a bit of saturation, and boosted clarity a bit.  I wouldn't recognize the image above as part of the image below if I hadn't been the one to make the changes.

New Car Camper Tent

Our last tent made it for 10 years, but is really showing it's age. This is the Coleman Evanston Screened 8.  12'x12' main tent and 3'x12' screened area. Looks easy to set up and the family will benefit from the extra space.    Modern tents are a great value considering the stitching and materials that goes into them.  As soon as the snow's gone, we're ready.
