Camel Meat For Hump Day

Picked up this Camel Sirloin Butt at a local Halal market in St. Paul.  Paid about $6/lb.  I browned in on the stove and pressure cooked it for 30mins at 15lbs of pressure with jalapenos and onions.  Seasoned it with Ethiopian berbere powder and a pad of butter.  Served over brown rice it made the middle of the week special.

Sibley House to Cedar Bridge

Took the old Trek 950 out for a ride today.  Glad I wore my old shoes, as I needed to make three wading water crossings.  Also got chased by an upset gander or goose who was walking the goslings down the path.  I tried moving them off with a few shouts, but my efforts were met with hisses.  Despite the 10 to 1 weight advantage, my adrenaline got pumping as I rode away fast.
Other than the water crossings the trail was very ride-able.  The areas of lose sand are passable when damp.  The muddy areas weren't bad either.  A little gummy, but didn't completely plug up the wheels.

Headed South Into The Wind Today

Good ride.  I have decided that I like going out on windy days.  My 14mph average hides the first half of my ride grinding painful and slow and my return sailing swift and easy.

June Bugs in May

Been trying to ride almost ever day.  When I got home from tonight's trip, I found this guy and one other June bug stuck to my clothing.  Picked one off my face earlier too.
